Cultural Studies

Spanish

We are the only preschool in the Santa Maria Valley with a dual immersion program. Children not only learn to read both English and Spanish, they are immersed in the culture as well. With special days making tamales, celebrating traditional holidays, and exposure to local customs. Bilingual education is a must in today's global society. Give your child every advantage at an age where new languages are easily learned.

Botanical and Zoological Play

Children use puzzles to develop fine motor skills.

These special puzzles allow children to distinguish the intricacies of the various plant or animal being studied.

Children learn individual parts and correct botanical and zoological names.

This lays a foundation for later elementary work while having fun doing the puzzle.

Botany

The botany cabinet and control chart for the cabinet give the child the opportunity to put names to various leaves they might encounter in nature. This can take many forms, including a find and seek kind of game when outdoors.

Artist Matching Cards

A favorite amongst children artist matching cards inspire creativity and ignite conversation.

Children love to explore the different types of art found in the cards.  It is also very satisfying to them to sort and match the cards.

A basic thought in Montessori Education is to expose the child to high quality art work early on so they gain an appreciation and hunger to know about it as they grow.
