This is the child’s first introduction to zero.  In this work the child is able to see the numbers in order from 0 to 9.  The child must match a loose quantity with a fixed numeral.   The spindles are very slender and easily handled by small hands.

Golden Beads are very striking to Preschool and Kindergarten children.  This work allows children to match large hierarchies of numbers with their specific golden bead quantity.  Golden Beads are concrete representations of fixed quantities in a beautiful form.

This work helps the children identify numerals with actual quantities. This exercise also shows the child how to write the numbers they have associated with the rod amount.
